The Partnerships and Collaborations Department has spearheaded a partnership with United Bank for Africa (UBA, Ghana) on their 2021 National Essay Competition (NEC). The competition in its 8th edition is organized each year by UBA in collaboration with Ghana Education Service as part of the Foundation’s education initiative aimed at promoting the reading culture and encouraging healthy and intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Ghana. This year, BlueCrest University College is partnering with UBA to offer seven scholarships ranging from 50%-100% to winners of the competition. At the launch of the competition, the Rector of BlueCrest University College, Dr. Anand Agrawal indicated his excitement towards this initiative and called for more of such collaborations between Corporate institutions and Academia which will produce impact in the sub region in the areas of education. He took the opportunity to talk about the LITE approach (Leadership, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship) which guides every activity in BlueCrest College. As part of the partnership, BlueCrest will be joining UBA for activations in the various Senior high schools across the country towards the essay competition. Dignitaries who attended the launch included the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Fordjour, the Deputy MD of UBA, Sylvia Inkoom, Director of Girls Education at GES, past winners of the competition, among others.
