On Tuesday, 4th May, the SRC begun their week long Akwaaba celebrations for the Students in the school. This initiative was meant to welcome students back to school fully and help them ease themselves out of the pandemic that hit over a year ago.
Together with the Student’s success office, the first day was dedicated to traditions and customs of the Ghanaian community where local drinks and snacks were served to students, with other students taking stands to sell and showcase their products.
The first day was a success which saw students participating and enjoying some music and dance from the school dance group. All the activities on the day were done by students to help promote their talents and skills.
Awards were given to the three best dressed students for the day who represented in the best African wear garments.
Testimonials from the students in attendance was positive with most indicating that it would be good if more of these extra-curricular activities were done in and out of campus.
After a long day of preparation, singing, dancing, eating and making new friends, everyone retired to get ready for day 2.
Thank you to Bethel for taking all the pictures.
