On the 16th December, 2021, BlueCrest College in their effort to strengthen their relationship with High schools hosted 10 heads of high schools and their school counselors in an engagement and lunch meeting. The purpose of the engagement was for heads of high schools to familiarize themselves with management of BlueCrest, discuss partnership potentials between the schools and identify ways BCC can provide support.
The event which was organised by the Partnership and Collaboration department led by Ms. Henrietta Mensah, opened with a presentations by the Rector of BlueCrest, Prof Anand Agrawal on the topic “Providing dynamic student support in a changing Educational landscape, focus on SHS”.
The 3 hour program also included presentations by the various heads of department from school of Fashion & Design, School of Technology, Journalism and school of Business to showcase their impact and opportunities available in their departments
A presentation was done by the rector, Hods of various departments and the admissions team to showcase what is done at BlueCrest and how these students are prepared to become world leaders.
Prof. Anand Agrawal also facilitated a roundtable discussion with the various heads of the schools who shared their challenges and suggested ways to collaborate better with BlueCrest. Some suggestions included giving BCC the opportunity to engage first year students on the opportunities available in BlueCrest, offering training to their SHS teachers and staff in IT etc.
Prof. Agrawal in his closing remarks thanked the heads for participating in the program and made a call to continue this new relationship established. He also extended access to Coursera to three staff of each school represented at the meeting as college’s way of starting and strengthening its relationship with the schools.
The heads were also given a tour of the campus and treated to a buffet lunch.
The schools who participated in the meeting included Labone SHS, O’Reilly SHS, Nungua SHS, Odogonno SHS, Bright SHS, Akraman SHS Lingua Institute among others.
