Meeting Each Other Halfway Gets The Job Done.

The school of Fashion and Design department held their first General SFD meeting today, Thursday 30th September 2021. This meeting had both the SFD faculty, some admissions staff and SFD students present at the auditorium. The meeting kick started exactly at 11:41am.

The HOD, madam Victoria Honu spoke about the reason for the meeting, and reintroduced all the SFD faculty, both teaching and non-teaching to the students in order to know their faculties respective roles and their officesSome of the faculties had the chance to speak to the students in order to better explain some the issues that were bothering them. The agenda for the meeting were quite a lot, but they were all swiftly addressed and each and every point was touched on to satisfaction. The agenda were as follows:

  1. Clubs that have been launched
  2. Positions of some SFD students in SRC
  3. Academic Calendar for the semester
  4. Special Machine lab
  5. Lab coats for both SFD students and lecturers
  6. Issues with Results and grading methods
  7. Advisory Systems
  8. Internships
  9. Field trips
  10. Fashion shows
  11. Essence of certain causes
    Mr Daniel, admissions manager also had the opportunity to shed more light on how student’s academic issues, tuition fees, transcripts and all other student related services would soon be readily available on an online platform called Knack. He went ahead to inform students that their Lab kits and identification cards are ready for collection.
    Mr Kwame also explained further about the issues pertaining to residence permit for international students and gladly welcomed suggestions by some of these students.
    Students later had the opportunity to ask pressing questions and made  numerous suggestions for the department and school at large.
    In all, one can say that it was a successful meeting that left smiles and chatter on the lips of many.
