In this week’s segment on December 16th, we visit with 2 of the most prolific songwriters in Ghana that have learned how to play social media like the musical instruments they have mastered. They promote and share their magical, musical talents on several platforms and have accumulated a large local and global following.
Seyram writes and performs songs with currently relevant themes with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek. He has carved out a niche in that he performs his traditional high-life and Ewe folk music in the language of his Ewe tribe, having hailed from the Volta Region of Ghana.
Richmond, or “Lozo” as he known here, has over 30 singles recorded in his name and is the leader of the Afro Boys Band that can be heard throughout Accra and beyond on any given night. He is a very generous performer often bringing to stage up and coming artists and well known performers as well.
We will hear their personal journey, how they approach their craft, hear them perform and discuss what young entrepreneurs might consider developing to help improve the plight of young artists in Ghana.
