BLUECREST SRC TO CONDUCT FIRST EVER ELECTRONIC VOTING PROCESSES (E-VOTING)-USING MOODLE

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the school of the intellectuals; BlueCrest College, will undertake its annual voting and electing of new SRC Executive Members on Monday, November 2, 2020.

According to the School authorities, students are strictly advised to vote using virtual means on the school’s online platform (Moodle), as this is part of the institution’s measures of curbing the spread of the novel COVID-19 virus.

Speaking to the outgoing Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), Enoch Doe Semana, noted that, this is the first ever virtual SRC elections to be organized the highly ranked Tertiary institution in Ghana using this mechanism. He further reassured that measures have been put in place to avoid any disruptions in e-voting results with support from the college’s IT support team led by Mr. Emmanuel Oduro.

“This is first ever virtual elections to be held by the university in Ghana and the mechanism for this e-voting elections is set to take-off. We know that sometimes there are some interferences in data collections when it comes to technology and a new one for that matter but, we want to assure all Voters and Candidates to have faith in us and also for an effective, free and fair final results of the 2020 SRC election”.

The Chairperson of the 9 member vetting committee for the SRC, and a lecturer of the School Of Business and Communication of BlueCrest, Mr. Obed Nortey in his submission stated that, the committee equally used virtual means to vet some applicants for the upcoming elections.

He thanked the applicants for complying with all the vetting procedures and wished all qualified candidates the best in their battle for the seat.
