On the 16TH of September, 2020, a great partnership between the esteemed BlueCrest College, Ghana, and the premier television channel for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI TV) was birthed. The tactical collaboration to bring together academia and media is intended to establish a cooperative agreement to run media, technology and innovation exchange programs for Africa and also increase the reach of YALI TV among the youth in Africa.

In attendance on behalf of the BlueCrest College were the revered Rector, Dr. Anand Agrawal, the Marketing Manager, Onyekachi Ekeh, the Assistant Registrar Admissions, Richard Nartey, and Career Office Officer, Mr. Jones. They were joined by a team from YALI TV; Dr. Rashid Bah Rockfeler Herisse the Advisory Board Member, Stephen Selasie Asuo the General Manager of YALI TV, Belinda Odetsi Narkour the Finance Manager of YALI TV and Richmond Perkins Asante the Business Development Manager of YALI TV.

Dr. Anand Agrawal expressed his excitement about this partnership and described the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) as an epitome of the new Africa Agenda that is being driven by leadership, education, innovation and technology, which are also the pillars of the BlueCrest College. The Rector of the college shared the joy of the institution to be the support hub for media, innovations, and technology for YALI TV for the duration of the partnership and beyond.

On behalf of the YALI TV Advisory Board, Dr. Rockfeler shared his thoughts on youth empowerment in Africa and stated it was time to show actions and not just words. He went on to commended BlueCrest College for believing in the television channel and he foresees this partnership as a major tool that’ll greatly impact the youth in Africa positively. Additionally, he charged the management of YALI TV to show off the tenets of YALI and make Africa proud.

Stephen Selasie Asuo, the General Manager of YALI TV shared his experience over the few months of engagements with the BlueCrest College. He praised the college on its continuous support of the youth and truly standing for the pillars of the school, and they’re elated this relationship has been formalized. Selasie shared his belief that this partnership would become a benchmark for cooperative agreements led by young people in many industries and this will empower more young people to effect changes in their societies.

The meeting was crowned with the signing of the partnership, and both parties set to get the ball rolling in their quest to empower the youth of Africa.
